Harry Blackhall got 2023 off to a great start winning his qualifying group in the Men's Singles North Open Tournament.
Harry who is only 16 playing in the seniors followed up the group stages win with and impressive win in the round of 16 against the No. 7 seed. Harry unfortunately then got beat in the quarter finals by the No. 2 seed.
Not having had enough action Harry went on to play in the junior U19 section in the afternoon. Harry won his group and followed that up with two good wins in the quarter and semi finals. In the final Harry faced the No. 1 seed and his Scotland team mate from Ayrshire. Harry was 2-1 down but won the last 2 sets taking it 11-9 in the 5th to take the title. GOLD FOR HARRY!!!
We wish Harry luck at the Scottish senior schools in February and the national champs in March.
